Robot 2 Release Date Postponed To 25 January 2018

Well, a little heartbreak for zealous movie fans… Robot 2 aka ‘2.0 ‘is not going to release on Diwali.
This might sound too depressing to some who have been waiting for this grand venture since a long time. But nothing could be done by the directors also, since they want to come up with some amazingly hot work only and hence could not compromise.

Actually, the movie’s special effects work could not be completed on time which is the reason, director’s decided to postpone its release by a few months. Now, the date being committed by the producers is 25 January, 2018 and let us just hope to stick to their word this time.

Raju Mahalinga, Creative Head of Lyca Productions tweeted about it, “Our most ambitious project, Shankar’s 2.0, shifts to 25 January, 2018. It moves from earlier Diwali release to achieve world class standards in VFX,”

Alas, it sounded quite a bad news to some of movie fanatics. The movie is directed by S Shankar and is a sequel of Rajinikanth’s 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot in Hindi).

One thing that we could say for sure is that it has become the most awaited movie of the year, straight after the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Another fascinating features about the movie that has got fans going gaga over it is, this movie being a debut venture of Akshay Kumar in Tamil film industry. He will be seen as an antagonist against Rajnikanth, playing the role of villian, Dr Richard, a scientist with an ill mind.

Well, this sounds quite intriguing, seeing Akshay in a negative role. While on the other hand, Rajni has not seen much change in his character’s fate. He will be playing those same roles of Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti, the robot. But for this time, the charm of the movie, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been replaced by British model Amy Jackson. 2.0 will also be starring, Parched actor Adil Hussain and Akshay’s Singh Is Kinng co-star Sudhanshu Pandey.

It is a movie with an enormously grand budget of Rs 450 crore. Even before, its premier release it has started getting returns on its huge investment. Already, the movie has earned around Rs 110 crore through satellite rights. Well, now we cannot even imagine how much the release of the movie is going to earn the producers.
Initially, the movie will be released in three languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
But one good news about all this drama is that the movie’s release date is not going to clash with Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again and Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar.
